    Authenticating Game... Again???

Copy protection even with repeated authentication won't stop hardcore piracy groups if they want to pirate your game or module. The only reason there haven't been any reported piracy of Premium NWN module is that they probably don't have any interest in doing it. Instead of blaming people who don't like the process as paranoid, I think Bioware is the one that should be less paranoid about their module being pirated. Just implement a copy protection that prevent casual piracy like giving a copy to your friend should be enough. For that purpose, one time authentication per session is good enough.
Fair enough, but the system you are describing does not exist and would require a great deal of development time whereas the CD Key system already exists. The current system is in place because we were given the choice between no Premium Modules (and no more NWN updates) and Premium Modules with on-line authentication. We chose the Premium Modules.

Quote: Also why Bioware didn't have problem releasing expansions on cd that don't require online authentication for single person play but when it come to short modules, they suddenly become so paranoid that they have to treat every single customer as potential criminals that can't be trusted.
That is not true. The game came with a physical CD check for those CD-based games. We have an on-line check since you get these modules on-line.And as I have said many times (and many times in this thread) we are still investigating an off-line option for the Premium Modules.
