hello all, it's been about a year or 2 since my last run through bg and i was wondering if anyone might recommend some (very slight) mods to me.

basically, i am looking for as bug-less a game as possible and the only real mod i would enjoy would be perhaps to beef up the opposition and such. IWD2's HoF mode was difficult, but i didn't enjoy the new "balance" the mode required.

if there (other than the official patches) was a mod someone could recommend that basically irons out whatever bugs may be ironable and perhaps just added some new (but not terribly far from the original spirit of the game) tactical or interesting factors to the game, i would appreciate it greatly.

in essence, a little checklist of fun mods and "don't leave jon's dungeon without it" fixes would hit the spot. thank you!

To iron out bugs, use either Baldurdash or the G3 fixpack.

Tactics adds challenges not in the unmodded game, as does Improved Anvil.

Unfinished Business adds (or rather, completes) various game components.

Banter Packs adds dialogue with NPC's.

Ease of Use gets rid of various annoyances.

Game-Be-Gone gets rid of some pesky battles.

If you want to beef it up a litle a good mod is Dark Ritual. It wont add quests but improved harper fight, improved cult of the eyeless fight etc is what it does.

aye, i have ToB as well.

also, might anyone know precisely where and what version of "older" nvidia drivers i should use to help the game run better?

for some reason, my computer (which, by all rights, should easily be able to handle any infinity engine game) plays rather choppily, esp in IWD2.

some people say that the new nvidia drivers can really bork things up with older games, so basically i would like to know where to get an older driver so i can run the games nicely (preferably a version number, if possible). :)

    ty!

A good mod for TOB that does like Dark Ritual is Reign of Virtue.

Yeah, do you guys have any advice for drivers?

For ages now, BG2 has refused to work with 3d acceleration in 1024x768, so I just run it without it. anyone got a fix for that? I have a radeon 9600xt 256mb. I have been keeping up to date with my drivers, I havent been using older ones.

That's probably the problem. Most IE games will work (better) only with old drivers.
