    [IMG] Hi everyone,

I have a complete BG2: ToB install including the latest ToB patch and have just recently heard about baldurdash and G3's Fixpack. I am in the middle of chapter 2 of a new game and I was wondering whether a) I could still install baldurdash or the fixpack and go on playing my current game or b) have to start a new game.

I tried to search for the answer to my question for quite some time now (on Sorcerers and the G3's webpage), but couldn't find an answer. I am sorry if this has been asked multiple times.

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Erumaro

Some components of Baldurdash require starting a new game. It should be installed after the official patch and before any other mod. If you install Baldurdash, you should not install G3's BG2 Fixpack. The two fixpacks won't work with each other properly.

That's a good question; I'll update the Fixpack docs for other users that have the same one. :)

Many things are stored in your save game, such as stores, areas, worldmaps, variables, etc. Because of this, using either BD or Fixpack with a saved game can lead to issues as an old, buggy resource that's stored in your save game can interact poorly as the game files expect something different. TBH, you'll probably experience many issues just from rolling back your mods, inserting FP/BD, re-installing mods, and then playing from a saved game in addition to anything caused by this.

You're more than welcome to try (and I'd be willing to help with issues if you went with FP) but I don't think it's a really good idea for a game in progress.

    Thanks Sikret and CamDawg,

I guess I will not try to install either of the two then for my current game, before I made a backup of my latest save. If I encounter any difficulties, I will let you know.

    Cheerio!
