News of the imminent release of the next Pratchett book is always welcome. This time though there are a few reservation. First up this is not a normal book but rather a short illustrated novel. Similar I guess to Eric/Faust in it's original format. That was illustrated by Josh Kirby who also does the Discworld covers. This new book is illustrated by Paul Kidby who has been involved in the Discworld spin offs such as Nanny Ogg's Cook book.

The plot centers around the last adventure of the Disc's most famous hero Cohen the Barbarian. Cohen dates back to the very first book in the series and was most recently seen in Interesting Times. I have always loved the idea behind him - think Conan but in extreme old age. Now you might think that being so old would put the man at a disadvantage but that fails to take into account his life-time's worth of experience at not getting killed.

Anyway, if you'd like to see more try (USA)

Thanks Slappy... I'll add it to the list of books on SP. I didn't think anyone'd be interested in it, but I was obviously wrong. :D

[IMG] I got this book for xmas and it is very good. The illustrations are top quality and so is the book. Shame it's quite short at least compared to the un-illustrated ones.
