    Too bad it wasn't 30 years - although supposedly this is a harsher sentence than is typical for this crime. The judge cited a "violation of public trust" as a reason for the stricter sentence.

    Hold up--taking bribes while a member of the effing House of Representatives is only good for 2.5 years in prison?

    Jesus, that's much more lucrative that drug-dealing, and with far fewer risks. Nice work if you can get it.

    And to preclude the question who Abramoff was ... a fraud and a crook, with a tax aversion, to make it short. Senate hearings have determined that he billed six Indian tribes at least $66 million for his services, while talking about his clients as ****ing *******s.
