I just atarted BG2+TOB up, and I can't talk to any NPCs. When ever I try to talk to a party member it says they "have nothing to say to me at this time" and when I try to talk to my familiar, I'm told he's "busy". I'm running the game on WinXP pro, and I patched it up to the latest version, which I thought would correct the problem. Thanks for your help.

Your party members will talk to each other at random, and if you can't talk to sombody because they are busy, try saving then reloading your game, that seems to work for me.

Nevermind, there was no problem. I stupidly assumed that since the familiar insisted it was busy before the patch, and the npc's had nothing to say to me prepatch, that when the npc's still had nothing to say to me, the patch hadn't fixed the problem.
