Okay... this is just a random idea I have been playing around with, that I wanted to share with you guys.

Even if you're a chaotic evil insane berserker, the game begins with two do-gooders that you have traveled with earlier... wouldn't it be cool if the caged NPCs would depend on your alingment, so that it wouldn't be Minsc and Jaheira all the time. That would, of course, mean that there would have to be a different set of recurring NPCs or something...

    So, what do you think?

Great idea, I never understood why my Chaotic Evil Sorcerer would tolerate Minsc and Jaheira. Problem is, NPCs are relatively hard to make (if you want them to be complete with dialogues and banters and stuff). So, I suppose everyone out there is too lazy.

I think you're right, though you can get round any difficulties by assuming that in fact they didn't come in with you, but were captured separately. Imoen just mentions Minsc and Jaheira being in nearby cells, and you could take that as being "those people we met once, way back". But what if you never even met them? And I think Jaheira's dialogue might seem a little strange under those circumstances, but I can't remember - I've got too many parties going through BGII, I can't remember the early dialogues too well... :)

Maldir, you are correct. Jaheria's dialogue does make reference to the fact that you travelled with her and have a long history together. Not coincidently, so does Minsc's.
