NWN2 Online

Just wondering if anyone frequents any modules or specific online NWN2 games. I'm not very good at even understanding what I see in the server lists for NWN2, so this is, I think, a good way for me and possibly some other Sorcerers Place regulars to get together in an online game of NWN2 or NWN2 Module.

 

What sort of online play are you after? Multiplayer modules? Roleplaying PWs? Hack'n'slash feasts?

 

I haven't tried any NWN2 online modules...But I'm looking forward to trying out ALFA when it converts to NWN2.

I prefer roleplaying PWs, but with a some combat, and goodies collection. That's really always been my only beef with ALFA: The roleplay and interaction is awesome, but the wealth/item guidelines are way too restrictive. Maybe it's because I started in PnP, where a pc could get an overpowered item...And hilarity ensues...

Anyway, are there any good NWN2 modules out yet? To be honest, I put NWN2 down until the Mask of the Betrayer mod comes out.

 

I've more or less done the same (mostly due to a broken computer...), but still keeping in touch with events. There are a few good mods popping up here and there, from what I hear. Although I think the real ones to look out for are the pirate series that Adam Miller is putting out. Also there's a Placescape mod coming out shortly which seems quite promising.

You'll find with ALFA that things have certainly been loosened up in many respects - at least from what it has been at various stages during the past. Although saying that, with the loosening up there has been a big step to make things more consistent across the whole, which I guess has it's good (and bad) points.

Anyway, as far as ALFA is concerned, I think your choice to set aside NWN2 until the expansion comes out is probably a good idea - unless you wish to get involved in some of the beta campaigns that are popping up - as things won't probably be Live 'til then. However, if you are looking for a good place to get some Roleplaying done in the mean time, Shadows of the South would be my suggestion. It's made by a group of ex-ALFAians (as msot RP projects seem to be), and is set in Amn during the war. It really looks promising and has quite a descent following.

A single player module or five I can recommend, but I don't go to any PW. By the way, have you tried Darkness over Daggerford for NWN1? NWN1 isn't bad when you have the kind of computer to run NWN2. You can turn everything on and to the max and it'll have some nice polish. Besides, those NWN1 modules still have the charm. As of NWN2, I've decided that I'll be making a module - at least one for starters on my own. For practical reasons, I'd rather delay this until after the expansion is out.

 

What is a PW? and ALFA?

Sorry, I'm a serious noob, I never got into the multiplayer with NWN1 and now I'm hearing it was really good, my loss. I'm curious about checking out these different mods like NWN's King Maker module.

Otherwise I wouldn't mind just getting a following together of 3-4 Sorcerers Place members running through the game as a group.
