Objectives in Gnoll Stronghold?

Discussion in 'Baldur's Gate (Classic)' started by Black Rose, Dec 26, 2001.

Well, the Gnoll stronghold so far has been easy as pie for my character, a lvl 4/5 Ranger/Cleric. But what do I need to accomplish here? I've talked to Dynaheir, but couldn't pick her up because I am soloing. I've also
gotten the Charisma tome. Is there anything else I need to do here, or should I move on?

The Charisma Tome and Dynaheir is just about it, time to move on.

So I can leave Dynaheir there, and head back to Nashkel?

Indeed, however your level seems a bit too high. This is more a quest for a level 2 player... else it is indeed too easy. Ah and Jax, you forgot one thing: Gauntlet's of Dexterity... not great for a solo-char normally... but worth lot's of money ;)

You can get the Dynaheir quest by talking to Minsc in Nashkel.... but he has to join your party for that....

One of these days I'll remember... I don't know what, but I'll remember.

If you are playing an evil character, you can always go back to Naskel, pick up Minsc, go back to the Gnoll Stronghold, get Dynaheir, to finish up the quest for exp, and then slaughter both of them. That would be kind of neat. Maybe it's not worth the hastle though.

Well, when he sais he plays solo, I don't think he'll do that. When you play solo but do sometimes have a NPC for some quests, you can indeed pick up Minsc in Nashkel, capture Dynaheir, and then let them both leave (or kill them both when you are evil) but if you are evil, I recommend you to lt Edwin (also in Nashkel) temporary join, his goal is already to kill Dynaheir.

    He can't be evil, he's a Ranger/Cleric!

First time I was here I was really frustrated because I didn't know that you could enter those pits at the bottom! I thought there was a staircase or something leading down to the actual "Stronghold". Well, it's worth going there just for the awsome loot. I must admit soloing is much more fun in BG1 than BG2.

It is in one of the three caves below the actual fortress (I don't remember which one).

it's not the cave that is most to the south but from the other two (northeast of the most southern cave) and then the most eastern cave.

It's kinda hard to find, actually more like hidden. I think it's east of the western most cave, but I'm not sure since I haven't played BG1 in awhile.

You can see both entrances on the same screen. It's the cave to the right on the most western portion of the sceen:)

You can get to the caves by (when you entered the bridge) immediatly take the most southern way, follow it until you are totally on the westside of the map, then walk back a 100 meters and take the way to the north. There are some hills and the cave with the tome is on your right then, the other one a bit to the northwest
