whenever i put in chameleon armour, i became invisible. it is very hard to control when i cannot see myself but everyone in the game can. Last time i updated the game, chameleon invisible effect became faded effect, which is a very welcomed change for me. But then, i think after i updated my video card and the game reset the video configuration again, the "chameleon but invisible" effect comes back again.

Does anyone know which video configuration deals with this?

Chameleon actually reduces the distance and increases the time enemies need to "spot" you. E.g: you need to be closer and longer for them to attack. Read about this a while ago, but can't remember the exact setting in "Oblivion.cfg/ini" -file and don't have the game anymore...

By the way, try to get the effect past 100% with equipment and sigil-stones (+30% each). Insta-win, since no one can attack you no matter what you do. :D

haha.. yes, you can attack people with chameleon, but I'm a thief / archer, and I have so much sneak that, if I'm in shadows, I can do pretty much anything. I have tried to dance around enemies as well as jump on them, and it all works... :p

But about your problem.. I don't know. I never had anyting similar happen to me... sorry... :(
