One of my least favorite quests in Oblivion is Paranoia, The one you get in Skingrad from Glaithir. Even ignoring following the suspects around it is time consuming and boring. In the past I have simply told him they were not spying on him. Once a guard killed him but usually my PC kills him.

This time I decided to tell him that Berneditte and Toutius were spying on him but the wine guy was not. Got the note telling me to kill Berneditte and Toutius, took it to the guard who went and smashed him. The body is lying there in the street so I saved game, took his key and entered his house. I was having a merry time taking things when Dion turns up. Aha, I'm in trouble, yes? No! I had made certain that Dion and every guard I could find was over 80 in personality. Dion says, "Caught you but because we're friends I'll take care of the fine but leave at once." Which I did with all my ill gotten gain.

Later on I may try sneaking back in and see if I can get more stuff.

Doing it this way made a boring quests almost fun.

 

I never do the slaughterfish scales (Go fishing?) quest in lake Rumare unless I'm playing an Argonian. With any other race I find it too silly to even try. What's wrong with fishing rods or nets?

 

I never even attempted the Nerinroot (spelling?) quest. And some of the Deadra lords I needed a guide for ^^;

Actually I quite like that one. It's a rare one which actually encourages exploration.

 

The Nirnroot one I just do as I explore. I've never found all the roots and don't really care.

Go Fishing Or harpoons? Whatever happen to spears? And why can't I have a boat? Oh, the fish is so big I quess it would tip the boat over.

 

I really LOVED the dream based quest in Bravil...forgotten the name, but its where you help that Argonian mage chick out with her Altmer friend...best quest in game...period!

 

I am really enjoying the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Can't say the same about the Fighters Guild ones... "Yeah, me Fighters Guild boss. Me sent 3 members to goblin-infested hole. Forgot to give them weapons... Need you to bring them killing stuff, so they can smash them goblins good..."

Colthrun. What about Mogil (or whatever his name is) "Retrieve Book, no way. Too dangerous, I might get hurt." So what does he expect in the FG, a cozy bed time story? The Fighters Guild quests could have used a bit more imagination.

I didn't mind the Mage Guild. I personally don't like necromancers. The dead should stay dead in my opinion.

Since KotN is a quest I must say here that I loved it until I got to the end. WTF?

The knights all stand around talking about doing glorious things? That's it?

Sure, if you haven't done the main quest you can take one along to nursemaid. Blah. So you get a nice suit of armor, some bonuses and a place in the Boondocks to hang out in.

 

I finally got around to playing the Dark Brotherhood quests. I keep reading about how great they were. "The best in the game." I was disappointed. IMO the Thieves Guild quests are better.

Shivering Isles isn't a quest but is it fun. Lots to do and insanity rules!

 

I still need to try out the expansion. Sounds fun.

The Mage's Guild had fun quests. Killing Necromancers can be fun.

 

oh man you gotta do the go fishing quest!! it makes finding the fin gleam helmet so much easier. gotta love the SSHHIINNYY green helmet with nighteyes,detectlife & water breathing.

 

Hokay, I'm not a happy chappy. Oblivion is the first game were I wanted to play a vampire but where are the quests? I found one, are there any others? Why didn't they do more with vampirism? Why? I ask you why?

 

I don't remember how, why.. or when, but the only 2 times I played through the whole game I got infect by vampirism both times. The first time I didn't realize it 'til the sun came up and killed me. The second time it was a lot of fun, until I got annoyed with shopkeepers being asleep when I want to buy stuff, (I preferred having more strength and thusly more hunger).

It's cool, but it's hard to maintain it in such a way that it's positive.

there are a couple different times you can become a vampire but no big quest tree like in morrowind

 

Just did KotN again. I'm Arch-Mage, Head of the FG, Hero of Kvatch and the Grey Fox. When the prophet asked me if I was a noble Knight I answered, "Only if the Grey Fox is one." He laughed gave me the map and made some comment about one of the gods.

Has anyone tried to do KotN while a vampire?

 

Ditto. That and the Thieves Guild quests. I never had that much fun in games. Well, at least since a while back.

 

I like the one where you into a painting after the painter, and Boethiah's quest for the Goldbrand, I thought it was great fighting in the arena type of thing with all those leveled fighters with great gear.

 

...and the reward is a ring of water breathing... pretty useless for an Argonian! But I know the feeling.
