Odd graphics problems... I think

Just got this game. I've installed one of the player-community patches and official patch #2 which claims to include all the fixes of patch #1 despite being about half the size of patch #1. What's up with that?

Anyway, I've got what seems like a strange graphics bug. Most objects, including characters, monsters, buildings, trees, etc. are sort of see-through. Rivers kind of "run through" everything on the map, including trees and buildings. I can see shields through my characters. Know what I mean? Surely this is a bug and the game couldn't possibly have been designed this way??

Anyone had the same problem and know of a solution?

Patch 2 is purportedly smaller than patch 1 because it was packed more efficiently - but certainly installing 1 then 2 is utterly harmless and may be beneficial if in fact 2 leaves stuff out.

What community thing are you using and when did you install it (ie after patch 2?) I have never heard of this problem so it is almost certainly an installation issue.

I patched with #2 then installed Moebius' unofficial patch -- the one listed on this very web site.

Come to think of it, I think this see-through thing only came up in the swamp, not in the starting town.

UPDATE: I've been messing around with graphics settings a bit, and the problem goes away if I set it on 16 colors. 32 colors and everything becomes see-through. Strange, eh? I guess I could learn to live with 16 colors. Has anyone heard of this problem?

I mentioned this to someone who had indeed heard of it, he suggested upgrading your graphix drivers.
