Odd Happenings on SP or the Boards...

Discussion in 'Whatnots' started by DeBhaal Stasion, Jun 25, 2002.

  1. [IMG] This Thread is for those of you who have noticed something out of place, or such and arent sure how to contact Tal about it, or if your not sure if it is something qrok.

    My problem...
Same thing I told you about in the chatroom Tal. Go to click on the "next oldest topic" link and it brought up some odd site. But something different than that, it still has the URL for the page to the boards that I was going to.

This is the page I was going to:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum7/HTML/002005.html

And this is the one I was going from:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001990.html

[IMG] This is known as the "DeBhaal Stasion Phantom Error" in the X-files. Seriously, I haven't heard anyone else report this weird occurance, nor could duplicate it myself. And frankly, it makes no sense that the boards would be redirecting you to some xyz sites. This'd have to be in the programming (and really sneaky), but it isn't.

Anything even resembling such behaviour comes from some warez gathering clients like kazaa which are proven to steal commissions from Amazon affiliates, log what you click and send & gather info about your activites, and I wouldn't put it past them to force their own links over others you click.
