Of men and Gods. No idea where this should go

Actually, it's only about gods. I was wondering two things. One, would it be oh-so-wrong for my NPC to worship a newly created god, and two, how does a god go about being created. How does a god begin their existence? As I said, no other forum seemed to fit this question, so... Anyway, some help?

Have you ever read the book "The Primal Order?" It gives an interesting approach to developing characters as deities.

No, I am afraid I have not read this book, and in terms of Forgotten Realms, I'd just like to know how gods begin. Kinda neccesary info, at least I think so.

[IMG] The general idea is that gods die when all their followers are gone. So I guess to create a god you also only need a big number of people believing in one. Btw, this is D&D forum material. Moving.

    P.S.
In FR most gods were created by Ao initially... And some made themselves gods later. Read The Avatar Trilogy and its sequels. (FR novels.)

Also, commonly a powerful being could kill/deceive a god and take his portfolio. Or, as in the case of Jergal, a tired, bored god could give his portfolio away to lesser beings. Maybe a higher-end god decided to give a boon to one of his/her really powerful high priests and make them a lesser diety.

Who knows, its up to you.

In FR there is also a place called the Valley of the Gods. No one knows where it is but if you go there you will turn into a god.

[IMG] Azardu, I think it's obvious by now that everyone should buy books through SP.
