[IMG] Just a few days after they got another Liberal MP from a by-election in Newfoundland, London Ontario MP Pat O'Brien left the Liberal Party because they were insistent on passing legislation to legalize Same Sex Marriage.

He even said that he would vote to topple the Minority Government if that would be what it took to defeat that legislation...

While the issue of Same Sex Marriage would be for AoDA, I'm more interested in the reaction of my Fellow Canadians and any interested observers to this change of power in Canada...

I'd be more interested in how the voters felt. They vote for a candidate, presumably as he is standing for their political party of choice, and he betrays them days later by leaving.
I doubt he will find favour with them for re-election come the general election.

Maybe he thinks that the voters will back him on this. Some politicians never do anything without checking the polls, or forming a focus group.

If it's turly what the people of his constituency want then kudos, if it's only based on his personal choice then he's not doing what he was elected to do.

There was a clip on the news today where it was said that up to one third of Liberal MP's didn't favour the proposed law supporting Same Sex Marriage. There's rumblings that they may vote against the proposed budget (that the Bloc and Conservatives don't like) to topple the government in hopes of killing this legislation...
