Orb of Golden Death has permanently Silenced my Priest.

    I'm playing a LG human priest. No matter who is carrying the OGD my priest is permanently silenced and can cast no spells. Anyone know why or how to get ride of it? I've even dropped the thing on the ground and left it and am still silenced.

    Has no one else had this happen? I would really appreciate some feedback. My game is essentially over half way through because of this.

    Has no one else experienced this?...

    This is my first time through this game and it is effectively over half way through the game. I can't imagine completing the game with a spell caster who cannot cast spells.

    Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    That's the spell permanency bug - it has nothing to do with the Orb. In order to get rid of it, the affected character has to die, so you should beat your priest to death and then get him resurrected. But if the priest is your only PC, that's bad news, because the game ends when all your PCs die.

    If you're using the Co8 mod, go see Jaroo in Hommlet and ask him about healing. He'll fix it for you for free.

    Hmm

    Well, I have patch 2 already installed, not sure if that is the same as the CO8 patch. I asked Jaroo for healing, but he did not fix anything, so I guess it is not. If I download CO8 patch will it fix it? Or did it have to be there before?

    The Co8 mod generally will not work with saves from a non-Co8 game. You'll have to kill your guy yourself I guess. Then drag him to Terjon or Jaroo to get resurrected.
