    [IMG] This just in:

Adding to their lineup of literary adaptations (The Hedge Knight, Dragonlance: The Legend of Huma), Dabel Brothers Productions has joined with Orson Scott Card to adapt the novel Red Prophet from the writer’s The Tales of Alvin Maker series. The novel will be adapted into a six issue miniseries by writer Roland Bernard Brown (who was hand-picked by Card), and artist Renato Arlem.

The novel’s setting is in alternate American history where folk magic is real, and Alvin Maker has a fateful meeting with a Shaw-Nee named Lolla-Wossiky.

You can check out a quick preview / press release with a few images at http://www.newsarama.com/DBPro/RedProphet/OSCRedProphet.htm

The comics are now available for order, and here's how to find a retail store that will carry them: http://csls.diamondcomics.com/

Here is the form to bring in to the retail store: http://www.roaringstudios.com/order_form/db_order_form_january_2006.jpg

I'm told that the deadline to reserve a copy is Friday, or chances are they might be sold out...

I've enjoyed all of the "Alvin" books, so I may have to check this one out.

It's interesting that Card isn't writing the comic himself, given that he's done (still doing) an Iron Man miniseries for Marvel.

Thanks for your support, The Great Snook my friend :)

AMASTER my friend, how are you doing? You're absolutely right, Mr. Card is not writing the comic, but every step of the process is approved by him so it will stay very true to the story, as we did for George R.R. Martin's The Hedge Knight: link

Here is the sketch of Alvin Miller Jr. from the upcoming Alvin Maker Series adaptation, enjoy, and please feel free to post your feedback. Thanks :)

Here is a sketch of Bill Harrison. One thing that Scott told us is that during this time period no one really carried guns on them like cowboys, because they mostly carried their muskets in the back of their wagons most of the time, so the gun belt will go in the adaptation ;) Enjoy :)

For those of you who were not able to get a copy of Red Prophet, either because your comic stores were sold out or because you are overseas, you can buy it here
