Out of Underdark, want new party member.

I've found that having three spellcasters in your party, with only one of them having useful spells, is a bit of a dead wheight on my party. I need Arie because I've started a romance and she got all the buffing spell (gotta live the chant, bless, haste, prototection from evil 10' radius and greater malison combo), I need Imoen for obvius reasons. So that leaves Nalia to be kicked out. Who should I have in my party instead of her?

My current party consists of PC bezerker warrior, Minsc, Jaheira, Aire, Imoen and Nalia.

Well neither Aerie nor Imoen can cast 9th level spells. And Im sure your spell casting is way weak right now, since both Jaheira and Aerie and multi's.

Unless your average levels are 13 and below, spell casters make no sence.
Keldron might be a good idea if melee is all you are looking for.
Mazzy if you want someone shooting arrows with deadly effect.
Others, i either hate or wont be of much use this late.

 

Keldorn sounds nifty to have now that I'm confident that I can get the holy avenger from mr. Big Bad Red. Where do I find him? He seems to have totally vanished from the world since I helped him reunite with his wife. He did mention something about the circus but he's nowhere to be found. A +5 weapon would be good since the only weapon I have above +3 would be a halbeard I found in the underdark and noone in my party got any proficiencys in halbeards.

 

If you said something akin to "I release you from your vows about helping me", he is gone. Simply gone. No way to get him back. Check your journals Done Quests.
If you gave him 3 days time, he says that he will be waiting for you in the HQ of the Radient Heart.

If you got the Improved Mace of Disruption, thats a +5 enchantment weapon too.
The War Hammer +1, +4 vs. Giatkin is a +4 enchantment weapon.

I'll put up a list if you want, when I've finished compiling it.

 

"Improved" Mace of disruption? Isn't that +1? And how do I improve it? Tried Cromwell but he wont acknowledge it as being upgradeable. And if the Warhammer +1, +4 vs. Giantkin is found at the irongolems in Deàrnise it's out of the question because for some weird reson it dissapeared completely after I took care of the trolls. Any other weapon that I can kill Kangaxx with except for Flail of Ages (I screwed that up with not finding all flailheads)?

 

Don't worry, Aerie and Imoen will be able to cast 9th level spells. The restriction of their lower that 18 INT is in the manual, but not in the game itself.

Arngor: Do you really want to be spoiled about these things?

My advice is to add Keldorn or Mazzy instead of Nalia.

NOBODY can get level 9 spells. With the XP cap, a mage can only reach level 17; at that point, you're limited to level 8 spells.

Flail of Ages is only +3. If you need a +4, and have someone who can use staves, visit Ribald.

And it doesn't really matter who you bring on board; at this point in your game, they'll probably be pretty weak compared to the rest of your party.

 

Hmm... probably not. I wouldn't even know about Kangaxx if I hadn't seen a strategy guide on how to kill him someplace. and Klorox, I meantioned earlier that Keldorn is completely out of the question. I found a really nifty spear in the underdark. Think I could use it with Valygar? I don't have a good bow at the moment so I don't know about Mazzy. She's kinda cool anyhow.

 

I use Jaheira with spears all the time. Really puts the impaler to good use.

I have seen this in the guides too, but it was not true for me. I have played SOA once and am playing TOB now. Both times I totally released him as in the quote above. After a few days he is waiting in his house all alone - no wife or daughters. He will rejoin then.

The first time, in SOA, I thought I lost him forever. I found him again after returning from the Underdark. And only because I look 'everywhere' for things to do. In TOB, I saved game then released him. Did a couple small quests then found him back in his house. After SOA, reading the guides I realized his worth and wanted him in my TOB party.

Anyway, try looking in his house.
