Such a simple and really stupid thing but yet so effective. Giving me a reason to play and a constant sense of progression again. Not having to rely on the random progression of gear drops and AH browsing. I am a sheep.

I'm loving it. They have made inferno playable. I was getting to the point where I could do Act I runs with no risk of death. Now I'm finally playing in Act 2 and the challenge and fun is back.

Well, I killed Diablo more than a month ago and I had been able to do act2 without too much trouble (although it wasn't worth the effort) but act3-4 made me feel like a slug dropped into a hedgehog party. Now I still feel like that but every mob I kill is one tiny step towards getting slightly more powerful. Whether I wack mobs in act1 with my supercrit build (700k crits, didn't see the number but took half of the butcher's HP in one meteor earlier today =D) or run like a little girl hoping my hydra kills the mobs before I get cornered in act 3-4 I get a constant sense of progression. Now I need to figure out where I get the most xp for the effort/time and I really need to start selling stuff on the AH again.

I think they went a bit overboard with the WD changes. My WD is still a summoner - I wanted a summoner build so bad I made it work, and right now because of the changes my pets seem almost unkillable. A nice side effect is that I am also near unkillable atm (as far as non 1-hit-kill attacks are concerned at least - I'm currently tanking Belial's first two forms without moving) but the thing is that that the main problem with WDs atm is that they are limited when it comes to doing sustained DPS because all their skills rely on mana. This change makes it seem like Blizzard is simply relenting to pressure from customers who'd really rather complain that their WD sucks all day rather than do any worthwhile build-testing or at least take time to develop their dodging skills. They should really focus on fixing the main problem WDs have IMO. The extra survivability is nice, but it doesn't change how I still have to retreat or stand idle every so often and rely heavily on a passive to regain mana.

I love a lot of the subtler new changes though, like the lighter blue color for gems and tomes and the fact that you can now stack more than 30 germs, and you can now use town portal directly from Kulle's Black Soulstone room back to town. You couldn't before, and that has always annoyed me during my act 2 runs. Also, I finally now have a weapon to aim for: Skorn.

Edit: Wow. WD mana issue complaint withdrawn.
