[IMG] Hey everyone. I'm planning on starting a new four man party. I'm probaly going to go good/neutral characters. My PC, i think, is going to be a ranger/cleric or some kind of theif. But that all i've really got at the moment. Could I get some advice and/or help on my party? thanks in advance.

Are you going to go with MP-created characters, or are you just talking Bioware NPCs?

Well if your PC is R/C then you have a charecter who can fight in melee, possibly dual-weild, use blunt weapons and cast all devine spells. He could be either your tank or secondary fighter.

I am sure we can safely ignore - Viconia, Korgan, Edwin, Yoshimo.
Choose one of - Imoen, Nalia, Jan - for your thief.
Minsc, Keldorn, Anomen, Jaheira can all work at the frontlines.
Cernd, Aerie, Valygar, Mazzy, Haer'Dalis are specialists who might fill a hole.

A party of R/C, Jan, Keldorn, Mazzy would work.

If it's your first time I'd say Minsc, Jan and Yoshimo-Imoen, but I'm guessing it's not. I'd probably go with Jaheira, Jan, and Mazzy.

If the PC is a C/R, I suggest:

    Jaheira
    Imoen or Jan
Nalia or Imoen (if you take Jan)

Of course, you won't really have someone capable of using some of the nifty swords you find. Another alternative is:

    Jaheira
    Valygar or Mazzy
    Imoen

If your PC is a thief:

    Anomen
    Mazzy
    Nalia or Imoen

    C/R pc
    Imoen
    Keldorn
    Minsc

    But I like tanks. :)

If you want a little more magic, sub in Haer'Dalis or Jan for Minsc.

If you're playing a Ranger/Cleric you'd better not take Jaheira along since you can get all the druidic spells already unless you really like them.

I'd take Valygar, Imoen (or Jan) and a romance: I'm partial to Viconia and Jaheira but Aerie would bring some arcane power to the party.

With a thief you'd be better off with a full time Cleric like Viconia (though the others aren't bad options) and you shouldn't take Jan (unless you want to focus on backstab and setting traps and leave locks and stuff to him) in fact you won't use Imoen thieving abilities so getting Nalia instead might not be such a bad idea.

I'm thinking of of a new party which comprises two characters taken through Icewind Dale, Heart of Winter and Trials of Luremaster. They are a Fighter/Mage/Thief and Fighter/Mage/Cleric one of whom will be the protaganist. I'm thinking of adding Jaheira for the romance and her druid abilities, but am unsure whether to add a permanent 4th character or just add a 4th for the side-quests. Any thoughts/suggestions on this gratefully recieved.
