Patch problems ... please read

    Greetings all...
    I have the downloaded version installed from trygames.com (yes, fully licensed)
    I can't seem to find a patch that is available for this version. I've attempted to install the normal three patches, but I get the "can't find ToEE, any" error message. I am running XP SP2. The bugs aren't too bothersome, except that I am not able to use Coup de grace after combat ends. I can loot bodies and use coup de grace while still engaged in combat, but not after it ends. I've searched as a guest for several hours on this site and google. I just registered today. Cheers on the great site, and thanks in advance for any help.

    EDIT: I fixed the coup de grace problem by going into options and unchecking the "concurrent turns" and "end turn after default action" boxes. I would still appreciate any help with patches though.

    Maybe your game is already patched? If they're selling it online at this point, it'd make sense... There are still many bugs left in ToEE even with the official patches applied. Check on SP for the unofficial ones, but if you couldn't get the official ones to install, you might have problems with those as well. Your best bet would be asking about this at the place you bought the game.

    Btw, you got suckered pretty good... You paid $30 for a downloadable version of a game which sells for 10 bucks (boxed) on Amazon... I suggest checking http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/Store/index_pc.php next time. It also helps support the site if you buy from our store. ;)

    Thanks for the reply buddy. It turns out that the edit above only worked because I saved the game while the victim was unconscious, closed and reopened the game exe, and then tried coup de grace. Man, that's really the LONG way around, huh? At least I didn't need a restart. I leave for Iraq in a week, so I don't have much time to mess around with the bugs. The only thing I hate is the coup de grace thing. Can you think of any way around that other than "nonlethal til unconscious, save, close game, reopen, load, coup de grace"? I can also use several sorcerer spells to deal lethal damage, but it is also a pita.

    Btw, yeah, it was a spur of the moment buy, and I can be really impatient at times. They still sell it for 60 in the stores in my area though.

    Well, I can't suggest any better solutions than what you listed yourself. But, as I said, ask at the site you bought the game from, if anyone knows how to patch the downloadable version, it's them.
