    [IMG] Tal and others,

I have been reading about some issues many sites are haveing with PayPal. Many of the sites I go to have divorced themselves from PayPal. I was wondering if you have had any problems with them.

    MrGrouch

PS: This is in the right place, right?

[IMG] What types of problems? There haven't been any with the SP account that I know of.

[IMG] MrGrouch, PayPal has been nothing but useful for SP. No problems with it whatsoever. So I'm really wondering what those problems you speak of are.

I first heard about it at ENworld. I did a search on google, and found a anti-paypal site. Not sure if the site was legit or a hoax, I just started clicking links. Some of the sites I went to, mentioned issues with PayPal, but others not a peep. I was curious.

The anti-Paypal site is www.paypalwarning.com. Donboy at www.roleplayinggames.net said he didn't have any problems either, but he found a few other anti-PP sites too.

    I was just curious.

[Edited because I obviously don't know how it add links to a post]

[IMG] I tried making a donation last March (I know, quite a while ago!) and all I ended doing was to open an account with Paypal which cost something like $3 and Sorcerers never received any money from me. I really don't mind that small fee, but needless to say, I lost any kind of trust I had in that system and never tried donating money afterwards. Sorry!!

Maybe I just wasn't bright enough to follow the instructions because I seem to be the only goofy who ended up with such a mishap!! Maybe if I received step by step instructions would I be willing to give it a second chance; can anyone guide me?!?!

[IMG] stormhand, you don't need to open an account with PayPal to donate. You just need a credit card. When you click on a PayPal button on SP you'll be asked to input the number and the verification figures on the actual page, and that's it. You can donate in 2 minutes.

And if PayPal's too complicated for you, you can always just put some money in an envelope and send it to me, if you really want to donate.

MrGrouch, that site looks like it was made by someone whose account got shut down for illegal activities, heh. PayPal is the de facto standard for online transactions such as donations, and considering the vast number of people using it, there'll probably always be some complainers, whether their reasons are valid or not.

The main thing is that PayPal is 100% safe for the user, always has been and always will be. You really don't need to worry about anything else.

Thanks for taking the time to look into it a little Tal. I don't always understand these things and so I thought I would bring it up to you since, as a user, you would be in a better position to understand.

eBay just bought Paypal. The deal was completed a few weeks ago I think.

    And Paypal is free!
    For buyers/senders of funds anyway.
Only sellers/recievers of funds are charged.

Mhmm... I'd better get a creditcard then. It's about time I started contributing to this site, other than sucking up bandwith with my posts ;)
