People lie, Numbers don't

    [​IMG] Last night, a new show started on TV in New Zealand called Numbers. It is being hyped as the next big thing. For those who don’t know, it’s about a guy who solves crime using maths. It seemed like an intriguing concept.

    As I’m sure New Zealand is probably really slow at getting these shows, I was wondering whether any of you foreigners have already watched it and can tell me if goes anywhere, or does it fade away after the first series? If so, I won’t bother getting into it.

    Actually, I think I saw the pilot episode a couple of months ago.

    Interesting concept, but the execution was crappy. Too many stetches of logic for my taste.

    Saw it in the U.S. several months ago. It's okay, if all you want to do is kill an hour. There's nothing really interesting, but it won't bore you, either. I figure it's just filler until they can think up something better.

    P.S. The show, believe it or not, is actually called Numb3rs. :rolleyes:

    OK, I'll be the voice of dissent. I rather like the show, and I think it grew into itself after a slightly rocky start. AFAIK, the success of Numb3rs contributed to the failure of the new L&O entry, "Trial By Jury."

    Sure, there's a math lesson in each episode, but they manage to not be preachy about it.

    How do they manage to solve crime with Maths? (this may actually be a good excuse for teachers when someone asks them what use algebra is)
