[IMG] I was reading this with mild interest until I got to the last two paragraphs, whereupon I became incredulous and just had to chuckle.

Some Norwegians placed an anti-Bush ad in the Washingtom Post. That was the mildly interesting part.

Then at the end, there are two quotes. First: "Our main goal has been to create a debate in Norway" Eh? How is posting an ad in an American newspaper the best way to foster debate in Norway?

Second: "We don't think this will have an effect on the election. That's not our goal" Then why not wait a few weeks until after the election and address the elected President?

It seems like everyone wants to hide their true agendas; why can't people just come out and say what their true intentions are?

Or am I way off here and those quotes above are believable to the majority here?

If someone says something isn't his goal or isn't on his mind, he probably says that because it actually is. Same if someone repeats "really" all over. And it's not like it's all intentious fraud - some people simply have issues. Lots of people, actually. Some people are like Kerry, no matter what you believe, they seem to defend your position. They only want your tiny little vote in exchange.

None of this would be a problem today if only Greater Sweden hadn't let go of Norway in the first place! Just think, Sweden could have been the Saudi Arabia of northern Europe -- spreading militant Lutheranism with cold-eyed, blond-haired fanatics fueled by petrodollars and Scandanavian zeal, driving pricey Volvos and living in luxurious ice palaces staffed by Baltic and English expatriates, and researching "peaceful" nuclear energy while storing up huge quantities of Nobel dynamite.

But instead they're just taking out anti-Bush ads. Ho-hum.

It wasnt like we let them filthy Norwegians go completely voluntary. Cant understand why they would want independence, they have always been either Swedish or Danish, either one must be a lot better than fictional Norwegian. ;) Same thing with Finland, it is not a nation, it is a province of Sweden. Seeing as their main purpose as a province was to provide a buffert to Russia I guess they do that just as well as a country of their own. ;)

Oh, we do not need to research nuclear energy, we already have a bunch of plants and I am suspicous that we might have the bomb as well. We were developing it in the 50's but the official channels claim they just figured out how to do it and got the ecquipment to do it but never actually made a bomb. Yeah, right. ;)

    *wacky*
