petrification -- lose all items?

    I have a question about petrification. Keldorn was hit by the Beholder in the twisted rune. I killed all them off, but after the battle he is of course dead (and stoned?). But because he was petrified I didn't see any items dropped (like when a char normally dies). And then if I try to resurrect him he does not have any items. And it won't let me cast stone to flesh on him, I assume because he's dead?

    Anyhow, does that mean all of his items are gone? It took me four attemtps to beat that battle, so I sure hate to have to try it all over again from the last save...

    I hate it to be the bringer of bad news but unfortunately the items are gone. You have to reload...unless you want to cheat-summon them into your inven. .

    Remember this is the way it works for enemies
    as well so always turn the gore off when
    petrifying/deepfreezing something. They will "just" die instead.
