[IMG] Right, just a simple question (EDIT: well maybe more than one). How many of you people have (or will soon be getting) a Ph.D in biological research? Molecular, genetics, cell, microbiology, ecology, anything goes. If you have one, in which field is it? Do you have your lab in a university? In which university?

The reason I'm asking this will soon become clear.

Need to finish my undergrad course, before I can do a PhD in microbiology.

No bio PhD here, but I know a bunch of people getting PhDs or post-docs in bio, from genetics to bioinformatics. Perhaps I could help (or at least ask someone). Are you looking for info on programs?

I certainly do not but I do no someone who is working on one right now. She is taking her degree through the local university and doing research work at one of the local hospitals.

I have one client who has a PHD and does some research work but this is fairly unusual for my Dr. clients as it seems that research doesn't pay well enough to make it worth while having a chartered accountant.

I do have contacts with some research Dr.s via a charitable foundation that I am involved in. Given that they receive grant money from us they are usually more than willing to chat. ;)

Still finishing up my undergrad degree. And if I do go on and do masters, it won't be in biology!

Right, thanks for your answers everyone.
(No thanks to Harbourboy. What are you doing in this topic anyway? You have a game of BG2 waiting for you! :D )

The reason I asked is that I will complete my MS by summer 2005 (fingers crossed), and am therefore looking for universities and programs to apply for a PhD. And I thought it might be fun if I ended up working with an advisor with whom I share an unconditional love for, say, Jaheira ;)

@Blog: Graduate and undergraduate studies in biology have NOTHING in common. At all. So, don't make rash decisions! :)

@JSSB: If some of them are willing to take me in their labs for that PhD, let me know. I'll count on your persuastion skills :D
    (kidding)

@Takara: Microbiology rules! My work is entirely in microbial genetics. Absolutely fascinating if you like basic research.

@Bion: If you know of a good program somewhere, I'd be glad to know. There's so many things out there that it's easy to overlook stuff.

@Wirhe: Out of curiosity, what are you doing your MS in?
