    Is there any good items in IWD1 that you could only get by using pickpocket?

    I dunno about "only" pickpocketing. But there's a few nifty items you can get, way ahead of schedule.

    Arundel has a ring that's nice. I forget what it is, exactly, but I remember it's nice. There's a way to pick him twice.

    Oswald, Orrick and Arundel have some nice items. Some clerics have healing potions, which you can pickpocket.

    If your theif has a high skill in pick-poketing you can steal little things from people like gp and other small items. Arundel, Oswald, and Orick have some good items on them too.
