Planar Sphere Bug?

Discussion in 'BG2: Shadows of Amn (Classic)' started by Lo, Jan 4, 2001.

[IMG] I have exactly the same problem with the planar sphere as a person who posted here sometime ago. My kensai/mage already has Nalia's stronhold, and when I speak to Lavok I get two dialog options. If I take him out to the sun I get the exp but not the stronhold..he just says how nice it is to see the sky again and dies :) If I let him die inside I get the exp but not the stronghold. Did anybody else experienced that and knows the way around this?

This is not a bug. You are not supposed to have two strongholds.
If you want both anyway, you can't accept the keep until you have the sphere so it's to late for you.
If you still want it you can cheat with the following:
    CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("PlayerHasStronghold","GLOBAL",0)

I haven't tried myself though. I can't imagine why you want both.

Yes you can have two stongholds, I DID get the sphere when I reloaded and Lavok died inside, and so did other people (just search for this topic on this board). The bug is that I don't get the exp for the quest this way, and also it seems most mages get the sphere if Lavok is taken outside...doesn't work for me though, even though I have tried to reload several times.

Yes, I know you can get both that's not what I said. I said you were not supposed to.

Anyway I'm confused. You said in your first post that you didn't get the sphere and that was what I responded to.

The XP thing sounds almost like the problem with the keep where you sometimes don't get the money when you don't have Nalia in the party. (I don't know if that's the reason)

Ok, I'll try to explain again :) I have saved my game before talking to Lavok. Originally I have chosen the option to take him to see the light, that way I do get experience but he dies in the broad day light without giving me a stronghold.
Then I reloaded and this time told him I don't trust him, so he died saying something about deserving that, but since he feels kindred power inside me he passes the sphere to me... However I didn't get the experience for finishing the quest which seems to be a bug rather than the restriction of the game.
And another unrelated question, is there supposed to be a sewer key on Tazok's body (Firkraag's dungeon)? My brother somehow got it from him, however I can't recall seeing it in my game. The key opened the locked door in the Temple sewers and I really can't understand what Tazok had to do with it :)

I think Tazok did have the sewer key. I know it was someone (or something) in Firkraag's dungeon that had it. I dropped it somewhere along the way - before I found the sewers and lost it.

So I cheesily added it to my inventory via Shadowkeeper.

I agree. I have done everything in the game (almost) and I have yet to see a reason for this key to end up in Fierkraag's dungeon.

As to why it's there, rumour has it Tazok had mad sex0r with the Illithids.

Yeah, I heard some people talking about that in the Copper Coronet last week. He never was too particular.... :D
