    Is it possible to do this quest without Valygar? Are there anyother possibilities to do this without him?

    You can do it with his body . . . :eek:

    You only need him to get in after all. You could have one NPC wait in the Coronet, use Valygar to gain entry, then leave the sphere to swap him back out. Or, just kill him and take his body (no rep hit that I am aware of).

    Sure! You can kill him and take his body to the sphere. The sphere will sense his blood and the door will open.

    If you take his body to the Cowled Wizards, then you won't be able to do the quest.

    EDIT: Damn, dmc beat me.

    I usually take him in the party, open it, then boot.

    But recently, I playing an evil Kensai (attempting to emulate the great Shura! :D ) so I killed him and used his mutilated body to gain entry.

    Evil can really rock! ;) !

    To be perfectly honest sometimes I don't even bother with that quest. I really only do it for the Gauntlets of Ogre Power. Though there 's something strangely satisfying about slaughtering a horde of halflings!!

    Oh, don't say that Planar Sphere is so boring. Tonight will be my first time ever getting inside that thing (If I finally manage to find Valygar). Mage stronghold awaits me. :) It seems that being friends with Cowled wizards gains nothing. Is there even a decent reward for giving Valygar to them (either dead or alive).. Well, I might as well try that myself.

    No, it's not boring. But once the sphere is gone, there's no coming back until you finish all the fights, against: (spoiler)


    demons, mages, golems, tough fire creatures, mad halflings...

    The sphere is a fun quest, but it's perhaps the hardest of the Chapter 2 Quests. If your party is below level 9, you won't stand a chance (mages there do use Death Spell and Horrid Wilting against you.
