If CPU usage is ~100%, it is because the game uses the CPU. Nothing wrong with that.

Have you tried ALT+tabbing out and using CTRL+ALT+DELETE to see what other processes come up? It may be some other malware in your system, dear friend...

Is it just your CPU that gets taken up, or is it also your RAM? If RAM is a problem, you may want to look into Cacheman or Memturbo or some other RAM defrag program...

Do you believe the game uses roughly 1.67ghz?
I remember baldur's gate2 was released on 1998, so, above mentioned, my system overwhelms baldur's gate2 system requirements which Bioware presents. Something wrong and besides that problem, the game lags when cpu fully occpuied.
only games which are made by the infinity engine come under the problem.

BG2 runs on no more than 800MHz, last I checked.

So your game lags as well, you didn't say this in the first post. By the way, is your game version normal? The process name on that screenshot looks "IDMain.exe" to me -- if I remember correctly, it is BGMain.exe or BGMain2.exe, at least in the game versions I know about. (Do you use some cracked version perhaps? This could explain the problems as well.)

I have no technical background, but this type of thing has happened with other games I'm familiar with. Some strategy games both occupy 100% of the CPU all the time, even on modern computers.
