PLEASE HELP!

    [​IMG] When I run the setup program sometimes it tells me the program has made an illegal operation and will shut down, etc. If it actually runs, after getting to 1% installed (while it is installing the Setup.exe) it asks for the second CD and goes on to ask for the third, fourth, and fifth (?) CD's one after another, or gives an error message that says that a device attached to it is not working. PLEASE HELP!!! I have a compaq w/ windows 98

    Um, you posted this exact message yesterday. We're not exactly Interplay technical support here... If nobody knows the answer, reposting every day won't get you an answer any quicker.

    Taluntain gave you some advice about where to get answers the last time; did you follow up on that?

    Go to your start button. Choose shutdown, restart in DOS mode.

    Unplug your computer. Store it in a box somewhere. Go back to watching TV.

    Cancel your AOL account, too.

    If only you guys had good-naturedly jumped in with more advice--ideas on home dentistry, for instance--the joke part would have been made even more clear. But noooooo....

    No, no, you're missing my point; I enjoy a good-natured troll as much as the next guy (Tal may not since he has to field all the emails asking why it doesn't work etc. :) ). Notice that I didn't delete your post or change the gist of it really; I just deleted the potentially harmful part. :)

    What I think is a bad idea is to put in something that if followed causes actual harm. There are lots of gullible people in the world, and one who is not computer savvy could have ended up with an empty hard disk with no idea what to do about it.
