    [IMG] Problem with installing:

I installed IWD2 a few years back and played part of the game. No problems whatsoever. I uninstalled it, too.

Now, I want to install the game again. So I put in CD1 and start the Full Install. CD1 is ready, I put in CD2 and then I get a notion: "Please insert Disk 0 that contains the file Data4.cab."

Ofcourse, that file is nowhere to be found because there simply is no Disk 0, and the file is not on CD1 or 2 either. So... I had to abort the installation and can't play the game.

I'm cursing right now and saying things of which I wonder who taught me such foul non-eloquence.

    Questions here:
Why was I able to play the game before, but not again now?
How did this 'error' occur? What went wrong?
What should I do to fix it and get the bloody thing working again!?

The Data4.cab file on your disc 2 is corrupted, which is why setup asks for a non-existant disk. As for fixing it, getting someone to send you a data4.cab file might work, but dont quote me on that

Great, thanks for the quick reply. :)
It seems I can't do anything about it and depend on others who might be willing to help me getting that file... *wink*

This raises other questions more suitable for the Techno-Magic sub-forum, though.

Seems I managed to circumvent (?) the problem.

My roommate has made an image of the 2 CD's and shared it on our LAN. I ran the images with Daemon tools. This way I was able to do the full install on my own PC and am happily playing the game again.
Just thought that I'd tell you, in case others have the same problem in the future. (This error seems to occur to more people, it seems.)
