This one is kinda easy, but I have to leave the question here since it's a bit too long for the poll-system.

    So, here it goes:
Suppose a girlfriend or boyfriend that you were *really* into said one day, "You and me just aren't right for each other," and dumped you right there. Did you notice the poor grammar?

Well, I´m not english and I´m pretty tired.
But aren´t you supposed to say "You and I just aren´t right for eachother?"

I'm not completely sure what's wrong either, but I think it is what you mentioned. Anyways, that's not the point :) . I'm not English either(actually I'm from Norway :) ), so I voted "no".

Well, even though English is my first language, I think I would be a little to preoccupied to pick up on it.

Duke Eltan is correct - it's "you and I". But in a situation like that, who cares?

And what exactly is the point of this poll?

I think to determine who here is a grammar nit-picker.

Since I am not a grammar nit-picker I selected the 'no'.

Yeah, I noticed it then but considering my present situation, I would probably be too busy cheering if she said it to me.

"I" is the first person singular personal pronoun you use when you are the SUBJECT of the sentence, i.e. the person is who is doing the main verb of the phrase. "Me" is the first person singular personal pronoun you use when you are the OBJECT of the sentence, i.e. the person who is having the verb of the sentence done to them.

    Hence:

I give you a present (because "I" am doing the giving)

You give a present to me. (because "me" is not doing the giving, you are)

It's really not that complicated. Don't they teach this at school anymore?

If I noticed every error like that said, I'd have paid attention to more of those errors than there is any point in doing.

I dont think about it much when reading regular posts though...

    [Edit]

Ohh, I almost forgot to celebrate that I was right!

Duke - your written English is significantly better than many people I know who learned English as their first language.

Well, I didn't notice it while reading it - but as soon as you asked, I knew what was grammatically wrong with the sentence.

[IMG] Wasn't this posted not to long ago?

    Here's one error:

    The correct word is "who"

Not really Blackhawk, "that" is a correct if informal replacement for both "who" and "which".

And don't discriminate Blackhawk! Someone could be really attracted to a... a horse or a... a boat!

As asked before... what is the point of this poll?

Frankly I don't think there is anything wrong with it. There are times when I and me are completely acceptable: "It's just you and me/I".

Oh, and a new question for the poll. Who really cares?

No, because if it was spoken that would be how it would be said. Written, I'd notice it. But I don't need to worry, because my WIFE and I don't normally speak English together anyway...
