[IMG] Just wondering what percentage of a number of people have jobs. And how much money do you make. If you do have one, plese post what your job/carrer is.

Edit:Crap, sorry I didn't put an "I don't get paid" option under"how much do you make" but I can't change it now. Just vote under $10,000 if you don't havea job.

I selected the $50,000 option, but that's in Canadian funds. It comes out to about $1.65 American :D

I now have, just started, a full time job at a place called Colonial Chesterfield. Its an educational colonial farm. Kids come and go through different activities learning about colonial life. They meet "Gen. George Washington" whitness a "battle" between patriots and British soldiers. After lunch, they actually become "patriots" and "redcoats" and we recreate the Battle of Lexington and Concord with them. Its pretty cool and next week I get trained on firing a real musket (with blanks of course)!
I also work as a consultant for a landscape architect when his clients want natural or native landscaping or a garden that will attract wildlife.
And thirdly, I am an eco-tour guide for several local tour companies when they have groups that want tours of the desert, nature hikes, investigating the tide pools, etc.
I am also in the begining stages of developing my own eco-education/eco-tour company here in California.

I've got a "steady" job. It's purely to finance my going to college. Working 8 hours a week (used to be 16, but that took too much time away from college) doesn't net me a whole lot, but it's something.

I work extra at the side to add to the cheap ass student aid I get. Most of the time they just call me when they need me and during hte summer I work full time. I work in a mental institute and the pay is lousy, except when working night. It is always interesting to compare the salaries of the people that take care of other people and people that push a button each day or something. Apparently other people isnt nearly as valuable as pressing a button or phone marketing...

    Colonial Chesterfield. General George Washington.

In CALIFORNIA? Really, wouldn't it be just a tad more authentic to have a recreation of a Spanish mission or something else that actually happened there?

Places like you describe abound on this side of the country, but this area actually lived that history. Most of the historical recreations try to reconstruct life as it actually happened on the particular piece of ground (yes, they do have the records to support it), without inserting spurious heroes to spice it up.

If I want to see General Washington, I'll go to Washington's Crossing State Park on Christmas and watch the re-enactment of the crossing of the Delaware that preceded the defeat of the Hessians at Trenton.

Rally ... people in CA have no clue who George Washington is, so they need a little help. Since Washington couldn't surf and didn't eat tofu, most Californians pay him little attention.

Heck, I thought Elios was going to say Cornel Sanders ;) j/k

Personally, I'm a full time account manager (aka Sales Rep) for Sprint. I sell telecomunications to big (Fortune 1000) companies. Borning, but it pays okay.

I just got an offer for a part-time preaching pastor gig, so I'm probably going to take that as a side line.

My Dad & I are starting a new company also.

Bah. Full-time conscript in the Singaporean Army. I am a Signaler by vocation so I do equipment maintainence during administrative periods and charge into the front line with the troopers during operational times, along with my suicidal officer, whom I'm supposed to provide communications for.

I would shoot him in the back in a real war and I had live rounds in my rifle.

I get an allowance of close to S$600 a month and live on it quite comfortably, for my parents still pay the rent and 90% of my time is in an army camp.

Still, four more months before my term is up. Sigh. Hope my sanity holds until then. :(

[IMG] I hate hard work, and I hope never to have a job, and be able to live off my writing.

Off course, this is utterly unrealistic, and I will probably end up with a dead-end job this summer to pay for my extravagances as a student.

    [IMG] Me?
    I work in a shoe shop :D

I fit shoes on People's smelly feet all day, two days a week. I put up with children who whack me in the head when I try to tie their shoelaces for them. I stand down to angry parents when I tell them their sons/daughters feet don't fit them properly. I deny refunds to ladies who want to return a shoe without a receipt even after they threaten to sue me.
    It goes on...

But it's qutie simply a Great Job!
Because the people who work there are wonderful, and me and the other 4 employees work together beautifully as a team. I get paid roughly £4.50 an hour, which averages out to £180 a month if I work normal hours. Friday evening + whole Saturday.

It's not much, but I like it. :)

I happen to live in Finland. Anyone here getting over 20 000 is someone who is considered a person who gets along *very* well. Well maybe not 20 000 but 30 000 for sure. Casual payment per month here even for a valued job is around 2000 per month.

That said and done with, I won't post my own income as I consider it something of a privacy.

Not really a work, definitely not employment. Occasionally some lessons in Latin or English. That's about $9-10 per hour. In this country it's not that little.

Still seeking, although I should get the results soon. This waiting starts to get on me nerves... I still have 2 months of school, during this time I should find a decend summer job (or get back to army...)

If you didn´t read it from between the lines; I´m a student: way below 10,000. :aww:

[IMG] The wife of the guy I was going to work for just took all her stuff and left him, so now he has to pay the rent and can't afford to pay me. This really sucks because I'm desperate for money.
