[IMG] 1). Anything Irenicus casts: He casts multiple animations for singular spells - what a dude. Whats more is he cast them in a rapid flurry one immediately after the other. In the magic duel with the Irenicus VS the Coweled Wankers he puts all this wicked effects to use.

2). Abi-Dhalzim's Horrid Whilting: that skull animation gets me quivering all over.

3). A crapload of magic missiles: use spell sequencers and chain contingencies together... look ma... pretty red lights!

Oh I forgot... the mind flayer's fireworks are also rather impressive.

I like the maze spell's closing bar effects(when my mage casts it of course). I also like those elemental gates when an elemental being(elemental, djinn, efreet, invisible stalker) is summoned. Oh, yes! My favorite summoning effect is the Abyssal gate when a demon is summoned!

[IMG] Cant really remember what the spell was, I think it was a summoning of some type. But a big gold orb appears, and then shatters with a creature standing in its place, and it accomponied by a 'vvvvveeeeee'noise.

I like the intro-movie most, but from the In-Game movie, a spell trigger with many spells are really great. Even Gandalf couldn't make such great fireworks :)

    [IMG] Hi,

I like the death spell (death fog as well?) animation of that wavering ghost that slowly vanishes. The other one is maze or imprisonment when those little walls come up on either side.

    Cheers,

I love the Sunray spell effect, especially when my Cavalier wielding Daystar gets nigh buried in the undead, looks like he's about to fall, then suddenly: "incactus, pulce", whoom, zap zap zap zap, thump thump thump thump. Undead, what undead? I like to call Sunray my "whassup" spell.

I guess that's really more of my favorite audio effect than visual effect though. OOPS!

Actually, my favorite visual effect is that magic brawl at the beginning of the game between Irenicus and the Cowled Wizards.

I just love the visual when, for example, Minsc scores a critical hit with Lilarcor, with a mighty "Kaaiii" - and the bad dude just chunks! Body parts everywheres!

    "Butt kicking for goodness!!"

i have to agree that the spell effects in BG2 are a little bit shoddy compared to Icewind Dale for example - magic missile actually looks good and the cloud effects are wicked

Loved the fight between Gorion and Sarevok and his cronies. If only I could have seen it in 800 x 600..........

As for BG2 I loved the Cone of Cold effect; it's just awsome wasting 6 baddies and seeing their ice chunks explode in the exact order that they died in :).

    Offense: Death Spell and Abi-Dalzim's
Summoning: Gate (Skeletons have boring animation)
    Summoned Monster itself: Mordenkainens' swords!

  17. -When a monster is reduced to chunks of ice by Cone of Cold.
-Same as above, but with chunks of stone with Petrify.
    -Disintrgrate (sp?)
-Those little swirly things above a confused guy's head.
-Beholder rays; like machine guns!

[IMG] I enjoy watching my worthless one or two creatures beam up from the gaping dragon maw when I cast monster summoning. Cooooooool. I also enjoy the too-slow hovering ball of Charm-Spell-Matter that I get to see for so long each time. I love the invokations in the wizard's hands as he casts a fireball, but the fireball is too rare because I'm being slaughtered as I drone on my vocal runes...
