Umm last time I checked Canadian bacon is not ham, Canadian bacon is a form of bacon. It should be it’s own option as you can get either Canadian bacon, bacon, or ham on a pizza

    Mmmm - sausage.

BTW - for any Pizza Hut fans out there, stay far, far away from their "Chicago Deep Dish" pizza - it is just gross! I mean, I love cheese and all, but the one I had tonight was enough to make me swear off dairy products for the rest of the week!!

[IMG] On a food fair in Cologne I spoke with a spanish sausage producer who with a surprised tone explained me that the majority of their production goes to britain - since the english seem convinced that his spicy spanish sausage is the classical ingredience for a genuine italian pizza  That was really funny :shake:

[IMG] the minimum requirements for a classic italian pizza are a thin pizza base, tomato sauce infused with basil and usually oregano. without these it isn't an italian pizza per se. cheese (including mozzerella) is not an essential component, it's just a topping. also stuff like 'deep pan' are american inventions! (was a waiter in various pizza restaurants for 6years while a student... i know my pizza!)

voted for anchovies btw, which narrowly edged-out pepperoni and peppers. :mmm:

I'm not really all that picky.

Protein and carbohydrates. If it's got both, I'm there on the pizza.

I don't think I've ever eaten anchovies, though.

[IMG] I'm a big fan of Sir Bel peppers as a pizza topping myself.

Other goodies include: mushrooms and chicken. I love Pizza Hut's chicken supreme pizza.

I like to make my own "Mexican Pizzas". I start with a round flat Cheese and pepper bread (they sell them in Giant Eagle grocery stores). I use salsa instead of pizza sauce, and a mixture of colby and pepper jack cheese. It's topped with spicy pepperoni, sliced hot peppers, portabella mushroom slices, and sometimes a bit of crumbled hot sausage.

Other unusual pizzas that I've gotten from pizza shops in Pittsburgh:

Perogie Pizza: For those not in the know, a perogie is a small pasta dough pocket stuffed with mashed potatoes and a little cheese, sometimes other ingredients (onion), and cooked in butter. Sometimes spelled pierogi. This pizza had the crust, a little butter, potatoes, and mozzerella cheese, and some sauteed onions on top. Delicious! Unfortunately, the only place that I know of that made them is no longer in business.

Big Burger Pizza: Crust, hamburger meat, cheddar, pickles, onions, a bit of lettuce, and Thousand Island dressing. Tastes almost exactly like a Big Mac.

Philly Steak Pizza: Crust, steak, onions, green peppers, then another crust upside down on top of it all. Also known as "sandwich pizza".
