[IMG] Do you accept whatever fate gives you or do you reroll?

Edited: Please be honest! I'm a chronic re-roller myself :D

Never! It would be the exact same thing as using a trainer for more hit points.

In BG2 both "Novice" and "Normal" difficulty settings give max HP's when you level up. This wasn't the case in BG1.

Depends. When doing difficult solo games I want as many hit points as possible, but otherwise I never reroll. There was a time when I did, but not anymore.

[IMG] I never reroll though on BG2 and IWD I always set it to give max HP - otherwise I don't mind what I get

I'm with Namuras on this one. It depends. With a party of four to six I take what I get the first time around. When soloing, or using a two or three member party I usually will reload and reroll, but that can be a pain in the ass when playing BG/BG2 on the Core Rules setting. Now IWD had that nifty setting, 'Max Hit Points' on level up which came in very handy when soloing or playing on Heart of Fury Mode.

@Earl Grey: I always thought that you would get max hit points per level in BG1 if you lowered the difficulty to Normal or Novice. I've never played below Core Rules (aka the setting above Normal in BG1), but I'm playing BG1 now so I'll have to look into it.

    [IMG] @8people
The topic is not about rerolling in BG2 or IWD! :grr: I mentioned the difficulty settings in BG2 only as a reference.
There's no need to reroll in BG2, because you start out with almost all your HD!
Rogues start with 8 out of 10 HD
Fighters and Clerics start with 7 out of 9 HD
Wizards start with 7 out of 10 HD

    @Thorongil
You get max HP's on lower difficulty settings in BG1?
Can someone confirm this, I've removed BG1 from my Hard drive so I can't check without re-installing.

Lower difficulty settings don't give max HP in BG1. I tried some time ago.

Yep this is true. I had never played below the neutral setting. I suppose that's what they call core rules in BG according the manual. Anyway I guess the only differences in lowering the setting below neutral are, the game is easier and you get less XP. Haven't tested out the less XP thing, so I'm not sure if that applies to both encounters and quest XP.

in BG2 you always get the Max.

In BG you get a random amount, dependent on your class and constitution. Yuo can just save when you are level up and load when you think you didn't got enough hitpoints.

[IMG] I NEVER Re-roll. Personally i think it is cheating.
I can't live with the game if i cheated in it.
