Ok, on a scale of 1 to 5, how was your Christmas?
1 means it was crappolla and 5 would be fantastic.

Mine was personally on about the 1 scale as far as non-immediate family are concerned. I thought making this poll would make me feel a little bit better about it.

Not all was bad though. On Christmas Eve the power went out from 11 in the morning until 5:30 at night. It gets dark here early - at around 4ish. We made a supper of pizza and hamburgers over my moms wood stove and it was done by candle light. In itself that was very magical.

Mine would have been better if I hadn't been so tired, but I worked 12 hour shifts for six nights in a row, ending at 0700 on Christmas day. I did get the memory I wanted for Christmas and my kids and wife were pleased with their gifts. I figure the season set me back about $1000.

@Dragonfly, sorry to here about family problems on the holidays suck!

Thanks for the nice words guys but I'm honestly trying not to wallow in the badness of it. The price of wisdom can be high. I learned a lot from that experience and have aged mentally because of it.

a penny for my thoughts - an arm for my enlightenment

Also, like I said, it was not all bad. My kids loved their gifts and I loved their smiles.

Mine was ok. Not great, but not bad.

Glad it's over though...I need to get back to work. Money just doesn't pop in to my pocket. :( :rolling:

I would have liked to have scored mine negative because it was the worst I've ever had.

Short version our hostess's father died suddenly xmas eve morning, so we cancelled xmas. The wierd thing is there are 12 of us close friends and at the start of the year we all had fathers. It looks like at the end of the year I will be the only one with a father as he's the only one alive at the moment.

Mine was middling. I'm old, so I don't get too many presents and people like to give me old lady clothes, which I despise. :toofar: I was with hubby and that was great, but not with my daughter or my folks. :bad:

When the going gets tough, I play with my Slinky. Such is life.

Had some nice points, but being away from SP was a pain in the addiction. ;) I'll give it a 3.

I got to hang out with my nieces! Definitely at least 4, would've been a 5 if I'd managed to get my brother a present he didn't need to return this year. I swear that man has at least one of everything already; how am I supposed to get presents for him ever?

Dinner with the family, the same damn people telling the same damn stories every year over and over again. I'll rate it a 2, I would rate it a 3 (because of its simple mediocrity) but the red wine was horrible so it sinks it down to 2. ;)

Same as above; same old, same boring... Rated it "3", though, simply because it wasn't bad either and it's nice to travel once in a while. Oh, and I got a job interview too -which went pretty well.

I'd rate it a lot higher if my little sister didn't think we were still children and didn't try to start fights with me. I'll be going back to my place shortly.

Having a certain female around did make the day go much smoother, though.
