    Well, XM satellite radio is here to stay as prices for antennas drop, as more and more XM radios are offered, and as subscribtions continue to rise...but with the arrival of XM radio, a new question emerges...is FM radio the new AM so to speak? In a world where we pay for everything, do you think that XM will become more popular than FM radio? Will the FM band join AM with the numerous talk shows, news radio, and horrible sounding elevator type music? :rolling:

    I don't think that FM will ever truly fall. The only reason AM fell is because FM was better, but still free.

    Stop charging me for my music man! :hippy:

    Maybe I'm just cheep, but there's no way I'm going to pay anything for radio as long as AM or FM is there for free. If there's nothing on I want to hear, I either put in a cd, or just not listen to anything.

    Actually, driving without music can be nice, especially if there isn't much traffic.

    As long as this stations is on the FM dial and the 'net, I'm good. Of course, when you have kids most of the time you're playing their CDs anyway, so it's almost a moot point. ;)

    I think travelers will benifit from XM raido the most. I can't count how many times I've gone out of state and found nothing but crummy country stations, and not having a single CD or tape on hand. I go from Salt Lake City, UT and CA a lot, and when you're between the major cities: SLC, Vegas, and LA/Orange County areas, there is nothing to listen to...unless you like country music... :rolling:
