POLL: Non D+D Fantasy RP

If people find it interesting I would start an RP using the fantasy world I've been working on. The RP would have a medieval european feel simply because of geography (I'm namely in a relatively culturally isolated area because the oriental kingdoms aren't ready for play yet).

The RP takes place in the multiverse of Waern, a multiverse heavily influenced by divine powers and politics.

The theme of the story is that your PC is setting sail into the west to Loex Grovisv Isle (Dead Wood Isle in Draconic, it's symbolic for that the isle really is for), the "last" unexplored region with the Northman Urgeld Bearpaw, the greatest hero of the north and renown berserk. Ultimately, through a series of events, the characters end up, sans their captain, shipwrecked and that's where the real adventure begins. Not combat heavy RP as most of the key villains your PC would be running into could probably kill your characters with both their arms and legs bound.

The standard D+D humans, half-elves, half-orcs, dwarves, gnomes and halflings would be used, along with some of the subtypes of dwarves and halfling.

I've customized elves, wood elves and aquatic elves for the RP and have two custom races in stone dwarves and half-dwarves.

Also the world has a pre-Victorian feel and therefore there aren't the language taboos that developed in the 19th century (that is people can talk about sex, defecation and what not without shocking people).

As mentioned in the title, this is not a D+D RP, there is no real system this game will be built on. Instead simply design your character the way you think your character should be (keeping in mind that while your character is elite compared to your average human, the PC really isn't that powerful on a global scale ).

Well I'll try to get it up between Christmas and New Year's then. The world won't be entirely complete (such as one of the most important of Waern's nations currently being without a name) so you'll have to deal with that, but there shouldn't be any glaring holes in the world that effect game play.

 

I'll be away 'til just before the new year, so won't be able to join right from the start. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem, I'm guessing.

 

So long as you get in before the shipwreck. It will be near impossible, barring the RP of an insane character or the actions of a deity, to get into the RP thread following the shipwreck (for RP reasons). Before the shipwreck, it would be easy to have your character not really noticed amidst the crew until you join. There will at least be a handful of days at sea before the ship wreck (to develop characters), so there should be a buffer zone for joining the RP thread.
