poll: roleplaying/gameplaying

When starting out BGII I was in a little dilemma:
roleplaying demands that I leave the dungeon as fast as I can
gameplaying demands that I sleep (a sourcerer without spells isn't very much)
(I decided to go without sleep)

When I got out of the Irenicus prison the next problem:
    Rolepolying demands freeing Imoen ASAP.
Gameplaing demands that I complete the dozens of quests that get loaded on my back.

(here I'm still completeing some more quests and feel very bad about leaving Imoen to torture).

So how do you react in when roleplaying and gameplaying are in conflict?

ahem, do you have the 20k already to pay the thief ? I guess not, so maybe it's better you choose the roleplay-option : do the quests in order to raise money to free Imoen. It's as simple as that :)

Btw, why does roleplaying forces you to free Imoen as fast as possible ? Isn't freeing a keep from invaders more important, since doing that quest will actually help an entire county, instead of one person ?

    Just my thoughts...

[IMG] Roleplaying also demands you help your friends, and Nalia's became a friend so the character'll free her keep ;). Also, you need to be of adequate strength to rescue Imoen, so why not do some stuff to raise the cash and get stronger? She know's myou won't leave her to rot. Do a combination of gameplay and roleplay, then you can experience all the quests and intrigue in Amn.
