I'm posting this poll because I found an old topic about it and heard that it's a bad idea to have him as an NPC because of certain storyline reasons.

*I* sure as hell wouldn't take him, but if it pleases some other people to know that there's a Drizzt mod out there... And if someoine is actually willing to spend time building the thing... Well then! Very good luck to them. (That's a yes btw :p )

And then we could have Elminster and Cadderly and Cale and Artemis and Storm Silverhand and Khelben and Perigon (sp?) Paladinson and Jarlaxe and Galaeron etc. etc etc.

Different storylines. Different authors. No no and damnitall no.

No. Then it belittles Drizzt's story. Keep the player's destiny and Drizzt's separate.

Sheesh, if you really want Drizzt, here's what you do:
    • Roll up a male elven ranger character.
    • Choose deepest black as your skin colour and white as your hair colour.
    • Take proficiency points in scimitars and dual wielding.
    • Call yourself "Drizzt".
    Job done.

EDIT: BTW, the answer to the original question is "no".

Look, nobody would force a mod on you guys right? If they want to see their fave char in their game, who cares??

Big Deal. They're BOOKS. Big shock, Drizzt doesn't EXIST.

I don't know about all you other people but I never knew about the forgotten realms until about I started playing BG about 3 year's ago and just started looking further into the series recently.
The poll was to see what everyone thought about including Drizzt in the game, it is no big deal and definately not worth getting worked up over, like Lacessit said
I never knew there were people here that are so fanatical.

Adding Drizzt to the party via mod is contrary to his own storyline. He probably shouldn't be in BG2 to begin with. That being said, if you wanted to add him via mod it's not going to change my life one bit. :)

BTW, if you do name yourself "Drizzt" there can be consequences when you meet him in the game.

Hah yeh, only if you have ****ty reputation though. I did that once. Sure add Drizzt to your party, all you need is a control-q.

No. He would be off adventuring and helping others somewhere else anyway. Besides he has his own adventuring party, so why would he join yours.

'Course not, Drizz is in the same line with Elminister when it comes to books, and IMO, Drizz could have been completely left out of BG without losing anything important.

[IMG] Ditto to what Nocturnal Nomad says.

Killing him and his pansy posse just brings a profound sense of joy to me.

Answer to original question: Hell no.

Is there no originality left in this world?

I'm another one who takes special satisfaction on making him and his party explode into giblets. My answer is a big fat NO as well.

    No.
For reasons including those above, and I already have the best swordsman in the Prime Material in my party - Haer Dalis.

A part of me says that "Yes, he should be", the other part of me says he should not be, but I think it would be an interesting romance, though it would probably be best to just have Drizzt and yourself as the party, otherwise you would be way too overpowered.

If it is not a romance, I do not really think so, even if he does have an interesting story (though not really having one that has to do with the game), he would not leave his party, like previously said, unless it was for a romance, at least IMHO anyway.

Yep, but Haer Dalis claims that he is the best swordsman in the Prime Material when he joins you, second only to Drizzt.
Once you get to ToB, Drizzt will have lost that title. (Yes, the revelation can be startling.)
Besides, a Blade can outTHAC0 and outDamage a Kensai easily. ;)
