I have a theory: no one born in the last 30 years (or over the age of 5) wears pajamas to bed willingly. The only person I knew in my whole life who wore pajamas was my late grandfather - but he was old school (literally). I see people in movies and on TV wearing pajamas, and I think it's a load. Perhaps it's a deep-rooted conspiracy by the Pajama manufacturers of America to promote the use of pajamas in film and television. At this point, I won't dismiss any theories outright.

The truth is out there.

I do, when it's cold. Nice and warm, and cheaper than electric blankets/hot water bottles.

Define 'pajamas' - because I just use it as a blanket term for 'whatever you wear to bed' - I don't think that's what you mean

 

I'm a real man. I wear nothing.

 

I just go to bed in boxers. Sleeping in the nude is dangerous if you're like me and have a tendency to move about a lot in your sleep and nearly always wake up on the wrong side of your bed covers. Especially when your bedroom is often treated as some kind of thoroughfare.

 

How about another option for what you wear to bed? "Whatever the wife wants."

 

Nothing, unless it's cold or I'm a guest somewhere, then flannel PJs or boxers.

 

Who needs pajamas? You've been wearing the same clothes all day (comfortably, I assume), so why would you change for eight hours where it won't matter because you're unconcious?

Funny answers, BTW. I chose the "whatever I passed out in" option.

 

I'm neutral on the PJ issue. I have a hard time finding PJs that fit me properly.

What I wear is usual an oversized T-shirt, no panties unless my cousin visits. If the weather's hot at night, I wear a flimsy piece of lingerie.

 

@DR: You forgot to include "Goodies purchased through brown-paper-wrapper catalogs" option... or Victoria's Secret, whichever.

I'm in kuemper's camp, for BA's reasons. Sleeping in the buff can get... painful... when your bed is spradically occupied by children who don't understand the concept of being still.

 

I'm in the camp, too, although my reason is furry little buggers and not kidlets

 

There's the ironing and all.

PJ's for me or "whatever I pass out in" when I'm too tired for shower and sheets or... well, pass out. I've actually slept in a three piece suit. I can't fathom the idea of getting into PJ's and sheets without first showering, so just pull the blanket on me and take a couple of hours of an extended nap and shower in the morning before changing clothes.

 

No fair. I live in a room with approximately 90 people (yes ninety I'm in the navy and live on a ship) so just to be decent I wear boxers to bed. However when I'm at home I sleep nude.

 

I allways go to sleep in my T-shirt and some shorts. I tried sleeping in my underwear once, got too unconfortable. Then I tried nude, and woke up with no blanket and on the floor, sure it was confortable, but cold, and embarrassing. I love PJs myself though, just not on me

 

That's a good call, Rally - I should have made room for the frilly foo-foo stuff. I actually figured "what I plan to wear the next day" would generate more hits with our crowd than lingerie. Oh well.

I have to say I'm disappointed no one has selected "no, but I play a pajama on TV."

 

Death Rabbit, I have informed the SUPM (Secret Union of the Pajamas Makers). You, along with everything connected to you (including SP) will be erased. Such is the will of the Council.


What I wear: Rubber boots, night vision goggles, three eye-patches and cowboy hat. Emagine that!


On a serious note:
Drawers (boxers), nothing else.

Depends on the season. I always love PJ shopping though. Warm sets in winter and airy sets in summer for me.

I don't get the current anti PJ atmosphere...

Oh and I guess everyone has been in the "whatever I pass out in" case, or a variation on it.
