this kinda depends - inside my house, bugs of all kinds die on the spot, but outside I leave most of them alone.

But never wasps, or tent or gypsy-moth caterpillars.

I catch and release most living things I find inside of the house. We don't have poisonous insects in this province (although there are black widow spiders and scorpions in the badlands to the south) so I don't see any need to kill them. We are also fortunate not to have roaches. If we did I would have to kill them.

I kill any pest that bothers me....

Rabbits and moles in the garden -- DEAD!

Wasps building nests around the house -- DEAD!

    Ants -- DEAD!

    Mosquitos -- DEAD!

ANY bug or rodent in the house -- DEAD! (although I did catch and release a racoon once).

Bratty neighbor kid -- oops, better plead the fifth.

I don't do anything with them. I just wait for them to go away of their own accord. No point wasting my precious time chasing them when they'll just fly away anyway.

Usually, I ignore both, especially when outside. If either are in my house, I will ask hubby to kill them with a newpaper or something. Alone, I spray them with hairspray so they can't fly around.

Hairspray? Classic. I now have visions of a bee flying back to the hive with an extravagant blow waved hairstyle.......

Depends on my mood, sometimes I squash, sometimes I release. And once I just allowed colony of ants to live. Well, until they started to show up regulary at least. Then it was time to show what happens when they don't respect getting another chance :D

They leave bad marks on stuff anyway, so I do like Harbs. Sometimes I'll push them out of the window maybe. Or I get the cat to do the hunt. :D

Spiders, weta (BIG grasshopper/roach hybrid thing found only in NZ), praying mantis (uh, what's the plural?) I gentry usher outside. Bees I leave alone - they'll make their way back to the hive, wasps/hornets I kill with spray.
Pretty much anything that doesn't make a nasty mess when you smash it I beat the crap out of and chuck in the rubbish, the stuff that DOES make a nasty mess I spray.

    Raccoons are not rodents...

Depends on the animal. I live in an appartment with garden, so we get a lot of more or less creepy beasts in here. None are dangerous.

Mosquitos and flies are dead, because they annoy me.

Wasps are usually dead, because they scare me and the dog likes to catch them. There is usually a zone of death beneath knee level in the summertime.

Bees and bumblebees are released. They are useful.

Spiders are usually released. I find them disgusting, but they do eat the more creepy stuff.

Frogs and toads are released, if the dog doesn't get them first. (I hate the pond in our garden.) It's to messy to kill them.

We don't get mice, rats, cockroaches, ants (now, there's a surprise, eh?), rabbits or moles.

Cats are not bothered, except by the dog... Dogs get the same treatment. ;)

Martens are usually not noticed. Only if they try to build a nest under the roof. :shame:

A neighbour once had a fox in his living room. The poor beast was after the childrens rabbits children. Sadly, the fox was kicked to death.

And we did have wild boars a few years back. It's weird to step out of the door in the morning just to have a wild sow staring at you. You can bet that I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I leave that to the local forest warden.

Actually, the hairspray (AquaNet white can for those wondering :) ) glues their wings to their bodies so they can't fly.

An ex-girlfriend of mine has a son who ate bugs, including bees, wasps, roaches, water bugs and Chinese beetles.

My son just points to any bug he sees and declares that it is a "Spider!!!"

Wasps I absolutely despise... I don't see my trusty can of Spectrocide laying around anywhere, I'll have to go out and by a new one for the summer it looks like.

Bees tend not to be aggressive so I send them packing with the old "Get out of Jail Free" card.

    Hmmm...

If it's a honey bee, I'll catch it in my dad's net, and force the bas***d to pollenate my mom's flowers. If it's already do it's job, I'll usually leve them be.

I'm allergic to bee stings, so in that light, If I see a wasp or hornet, I like to torture the living hell out of them!

My cousin caught a friggn' huge wolf spider last summer, so I caught a wasp from the nest they made under the rain gutter on my dad's shed. Anyway...I ripped its wings off, and stuck it under a bowl that had the wolf spider. That spider kicked that bug's ass! :p After the wasp was dead, I used my blow-torch to kill the spider.

After that, I used a 'Hornet Spray' thingy to kill the rest of them and thir nest. :rolling:
