Today is Christmas day,
a day full of many things.
It is a day of reflection.
It is a day pregnant with emotion.
For many it is a sad day.
For others it is a day resplendent with gratitude.

For once I had good time on a December the 25th. Usually it's just another day off work, where I am bored because there's no where to go, but today was better than most . New year is still going to be better than it though

 

Not many options there really. There are emotions in between those two extremes and I would place myself somewhere in the middle. I am very rarely if never blissful and full of joy but I was actually closer to that than to supreme depression this christmas day.

 

That pole only offered the two extremes: supreme happyness or supreme depression. I'm going to say that Joacqin best summed up what I am feeling today, rather than write a post similar to one that more or less expresses what I'm feeling right now.

 

I'm sorry it was so polar, but I wanted to fit it into a black and white choice: good or bad?

Where have you found yourself this year? What thoughts have come to mind?

 

It felt... weird. Like it was just another day. Like nothing special was supposed to happen today.

 

Well, the thought occurred to me that this year was better than last year. Last year I was trying to find a place to temporarily live (I was in the dorms at the college I attended and they closed for the holidays, my sister and her boyfriend took me in and said I could stay until school started again but doom on me because they/he decided to tell me to leave pronto nevermind that I had no where to go.) Anyway, last Christmas was a bloody shambles because I ended up stuck in a motel that was the refuge for drug dealers and worse.
As I said, it occurred to me this year that things were much, much better! I'm about to go off to a *real* college, none of this junior college ****, a university so things are going good! How's that for a story/impressions/whatever?

 

Atreides, your story is exactly what I want to hear. I always find myself looking at where I am, what I am doing and reflecting on where and what I was doing the year before.

Meaning is *expected* on this day, it doesn't necessarily mean anything special happens. I find myself thinking about things and I figure others do as well. Maybe it was just another day...maybe that is good maybe that is bad...

 

It was pretty much a reflection of this year. It made me realise how many people care about me, but it ultimately left me feeling very, very alone.

Hopefully I can look forward to a prosperous 2003, because 2002 was nothing but mass dissappointment and pain.

 

I had both. Before the presents is good. After the presents is bad

 

Man, I love Christmas, I woke up and felt wonderful. First thing I went downstairs and gave my mum and step-dad their cards, gave em hugs, and ate breakfast. Couldn't open presents till my mum went and got sister from my dad, he sent my gifts over, and we opened presents, hooked up ps2, and played ps2, taking turns, all day. Then had the awesomest awesome dinner ever.

 

Just a boring day. Nothing special to do. Read a dumb book and listened to music.

 

It was great. We opened presents with my son. I made french toast for breakfast and roast for dinner. Played all day.
