[IMG] How do you like your popcorn? Loads of butter, salt, plain, etc?
Do you prefer microwave, popped in oil, an air popper?
What is your favorite thing to do while eating popcorn?

I prefer popcorn popped oldschool style in a very old and really greasy pot. I pop in a mix of 50% oil and 50% margarine, wonderful popcorn! On the finished popcorns I have only salt. Too bad I cant eat much popcorn nowadays, those peels around the seeds get stuck in my throat and annoy me for a few days everytime I have eaten popcorn. :(

The sugar on popcorn is a central european thing, it is absolutely disgusting! I once took a fistful of popcorn expecting yummy salty snacks and got something sweet and horrible!

This post reminds me of an other Garfield Cartoon:
Jon Arbuckle: Pure popcorn, no salt, no butter!
Garfield: Mmmmh! Taste ecalent with my pure butter, no popcorn, no salt, and my pure salt, no popcorn, no butter!
(Actually, almost anything reminds me of a Garfield-cartoon)

I almost never eat popcorn. I'm not that American enough. I rather eat my county's famous 'Drop' and 'Kroketten'.
But when I eat them, I don't have butter with it and they use to be sweet or salt...(The popcorn, that is... -> Edit)

Hmmm, popcorn! I love popcorn! Now, because I'm very very lazy, instant popcorn due to microwave is my thing. It's already buttered and salted, it's near perfection. They have this new sweet popcorn from Reddenbacker's. I tried it, and it's not so bad, but I prefer it the right way, the only way!!!! *laughs manically then coughs violently* 'Scuse me.

I like Kettle Korn. But it tastes gross if you get the microwave stuff. :rolling:

Butter and salt for freshly popped corn, although I used to like butter and Kraft Grated Parmesan cheese (real Parmesan-Reggiano, which is all I buy now, just won't do). Mrs. Dash - a salt-free herb blend - is tasty but there must be butter or it won't stick.

For pre-popped corn, kettle corn or caramel/toffee corn is a treat. But I just LOVE Smartfood white cheddar!

Air-popped, with a fair amount of butter and loads of salt. The best there is. I also enjoy the pre-popped caramel corn you can buy at specialty stores.

    It depends.

Dry popcorn is nice sometimes. But if you're watching a movie with your mate, then butter and salt are the way to go.

    Dry, and preferably kettle-popped.

When I was 12 or so, I was very, very sick this one time... and he next day, me and my sis went shopping. I was visiting her in the States that time, and when we went to this really big shoe store, there were these big greasy popcor poppers there... I have never felt more sick in my life.

It swore me off popcorn nearly for life. Well, for three years. I almost couldn't go to movie theatres because I couldn't stand the stench of butter. So I do prefer dry, with little bit of salt.

The sugar bit reminds me of a prank gone wrong by my sister. She and her friends, when on some camp or another, had sneaked to the kitchens and switched the sugar with the salt. The result? Whrn they had gone to the movies, they had goteen sigary popcorn :)

    (Poppies!)
