    [​IMG] Will *not* buying her the necklace prevent me from having any adventures or romance? I ask because last night I angered Jahaboam (the merchant who sells it - whatever his name is), so I obviously cannot buy it now. The saddest thing is that I didn't do anything to deserve Jahaboam going red. I was trying to do the Harper part of the Find Monteron quest and I fled the house, chased by the wizards. It was this that sent the merchant into a frenzy. I hadn't accidentally hit him or got him hit by the wizards - weird.
    Also, do I need to *complete* the Find Monty quest to romance Jaheira, because I'm a paladin and completing the quest seems out of order.

    You had Jaheira with you and you ran from those pests! What is insect plague for? You know ... the 6th level Druid spell which takes precedence over Iron Skins.
    Insect summoning will do just as fine if you are at low level.

    As for the pendant, I believe its one of the triggers for the romance to progress. You have to buy it AND have her say thanks.

    And since the whole Jaheira romance quest is linked with the Harpers, yes you have to do that quest and the subsequent ones.

    You need to do the Montaron quest to proceed with Jaheira's romance, iirc.

    As for hostile Jehoboam, I'm afraid the only way to straighten this out would be to use CLUA console to change the game values a bit, or just create a new non-hostile Jehoboam out of thin air for you.

    Wow, thanks. For the record, I ran because I was curious to see if killing just the animals the mage created (as the Harper specifically requests) is enough to complete the quest. So, I duly killed the goblins and then ran into the nearest house where I could hide in shadows and leave. On the way past, Jahaboam went bonkers! It's not even his house! Not to mention that he's not one for running away; he comes at you and if you aren't careful, you can get trapped outside the door to the Prebek house! I had a right royal time getting both my characters out of the house and past that fat merchant! Anyway, the Harper said I hadn't completed the quest so I went back and waited for Prebek to summon monsters which I killed. When the two of them were out of spells I returned - no joy. So I went back and butchered them both - and knocked Jobboah the Hutt out while I was at it.

    That merchant - does he have necklace only for Jaheira? I had a romance with Vic and remembering that he sold me one when I had it with Jaheira I walked by him about 20 times and talked to him too, while the romance was going really good, and he never mentioned a necklace.

    Yes the amulet is only for Jaheira, and he'll offer it the first time you speak to him with Jaheira in your party, regardless of anything else.
