According to the voices on BioWare boards, Premium Modules for Neverwinter Nights are going to be distributed in a traditional fashion, too, as normal retail products. Here's a snip from designer Rob Bartel:

Good catch, everyone. Atari is exploring the idea of releasing the Digital Distribution modules as traditional retail products and it will be very interesting to see what kind of demand there is for them upon release.

All told, it's good news for everyone involved and should mean more NWN goodness on store shelves for the Christmas season. For those who have been clambering for a hard copy of our initial wave of modules, it looks like Atari has heard your cry.

Now if only we could let you order the hard copies through the BioWare store...

And another one from the second page:

Pricing, copy protection, and WotC approvals for traditional retail products are all the purview of Atari so I will leave it to them to discuss those issues as they see fit.

As I said earlier, it will be interesting to see what sort of market Atari is able to reach with this type of product. Equally interesting will be the impact it may have on ongoing digital sales, positive or negative. Here at BioWare, we're approaching this as free research and development. Personally, I believe physical and digital sales can co-exist quite well with each other and actually be mutually beneficial.

Read the whole thing at BioWare.
