Thank you in advance. I am almost finished with nwn2. Is there a way to fast track to a prestige class? If not how do I become one before mask comes out? Thanks.

Every prestige class has requirements that are to be met. When you level up, you can choose the classes, and each class is listed on the level-up-screen with an overview about the benefits and capabilities they offer, and their requirements.

My fav prestige class, the weapon master for instance, requires iirc

    BAB: 6

    Skills:
    -intimidate 5

    Feats:
-Dodge (requires dex to be 13)
    -Mobility
    -Spring attack
-Weapon Focus in a melee weapon
-Expertise (requires int to be 13)
    -Whirlwind attack

A human fighter can easily reach that prestige class as early as level 6, with two more feats to spend - say on power attack and cleave.

Another thing to keep in mind is that within the 20 levels of advancement within the official campaign, you can only get 10 levels of a given prestige class. So ... getting levels in base classes to prepare for a prestige class doesn't really feel like a waste from that perspective.

Well, I don't think MotB has epic progressions of the PrCs either. Does it?

No, AFAIK the PrCs remain capped.

Looking back at SoU and HotU I presume that capping MotB at level 30 has a purpose. Iirc the epic prestige class feats were introduced in HotU, weren't they?

The reason why I asked about the prestige class because at the beginning of nwn2 it has the option when creating a charactor to create a prestige class but at that point it wont let you. Does it happen automaticly?

As said earlier, you need to meet some specific requirments for the prestige classes. That means you have to Dual-Class to get a prestige class, sometimes more then one time.

They are listed in the beginning so that you can see which there are, and how you can get them.

For example - In order to become an Arcane Trickster, you need

7 points in Hide, Move Silently, Tumble
    4 points in Spellcraft
    +2D6 Sneak Attack
Ability to cast 3rd level arcane spells

You can get this by taking 3 levels in the Rogue class and 4 levels in the Wizard class (IIRC).

When you meet the requirements, you can level up in the prestige class, but it doesn't happen automatically. You level up as usuall, only you pick the prestige class instead. You can "only" pick four classes total in NWN2 (for example Fighter/Rogue/Wizard/Arcane Trickster).

Note: to get the Neverwinter Nine or Shadow Thief of Amn prestige classses, you have to be a member of the NW9 / The Shadow Thieves of Amn.

5 Wizard levels actually, since its necessary to cast 3rd level arcane spells. ;)
