    Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble importing my bg1 character into bg2 with tob installed.I was playing the original with totsc added to it but I didn't want to get stuck at level 8. I got the TEAMBG level cap remover from sorcerer's place and got my human fighter to level 9. Then I dual classed him to thief level 10. I was happy with this and thought it would be anawesome character to play bg2 with so I did all the importing only to find that when I went to character generation my 9 levels of fighter were intact but it had started me at level 1 thief with my fighter levels obviously inactive because of my dual class.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on? I'd hate to not be able to use my fighter thief

I'm sure there's a bug in there somewhere but I'm afraid the best I can offer you is a direct solution instead of an explanation.

To fix your character you will need to activate the CLUAconsole. More on that here.
Once activated open the console prompt by pressing Ctrl and the space bar, then type CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("410000") and press enter. This will give your character enough XP to become a Fighter level 9/Thief level 10 dual-class.

A warning though, BG2 was designed for starting characters with 89k (ideally) to 161k XP. Max fun/challenge. Starting the game with a significantly more powerful character might damage your gaming experience in the long term.

Thank you for the response. I'll see how your solution goes. A friend and I actually went through bg1 in multiplayer and we're crossing over to bg2 now. We decided that since we earned the xp by doing just about everything there was to do in the original then that's what we want our characters to be in the sequel. And if Irenicus bit off more than he could chew by kidnapping us then that's his fault. It's more about the story and adventure for us I think.

    Thanks again.
